Young Men’s Group
The Young Men’s Group is a free, seven‑week programme that supports young men from 13-17 year old who may need extra help to stay safe, make good choices, and feel more confident.
About the Programme
The programme gives young men a safe space to talk, learn, and build trust with trained youth workers. The sessions are run by trained male youth workers who create a safe, friendly space where young men can talk, learn, and understand themselves better. It was created to help reduce risks such as unsafe friendships, anger, exploitation, or involvement in crime.
What the Programme Covers
Across the seven weeks, young men take part in friendly and structured sessions. They explore topics such as healthy relationships, choices and consequences, anger and conflict, knife‑crime awareness, online safety, and how to spot unsafe situations. Everything is taught in simple, age‑appropriate ways, with activities like team games, discussions, and practising real‑life scenarios.
Specialist Sessions
There are also specialist guest sessions from people who work in areas like the justice system and health. In the final week, the group takes part in a gallery visit and a justice‑themed experience to help connect learning to the real world.
Programme Outcomes
At the end of the programme, young men finish with greater confidence, stronger decision‑making skills, and a clearer understanding of how to keep themselves safe in different situations.
