Young Women’s Group (Meadows)
The Young Women’s Group is a free, seven‑week programme for young women aged 13 to 17. It helps young women build confidence, stay safe, and make positive choices. The sessions are run by trained female youth workers who create a safe, friendly space where young women can talk, learn, and understand themselves better.
About the Programme
This programme supports young women who may be finding things difficult at school, struggling with friendships, or feeling worried about risky situations. It gives them a trusted place to learn, share their feelings, and build the skills they need to live safer and healthier lives.
What the Programme Covers
Across the seven weeks, young women explore themes such as confidence, self‑esteem, healthy relationships, consent, body understanding, social media safety, and how to stay safe in their community.
Each session is simple, age‑appropriate, and includes discussions, creative activities, team tasks, and real‑life scenarios that help young women learn in a fun and comfortable way.
Session Overview
The programme begins with an introduction to identity, stereotypes, and empowerment.
Later sessions focus on building confidence, understanding online safety, learning about body changes and consent, spotting healthy and unhealthy relationships, and staying safe in everyday life.
The final week is a celebration and reflection session with creative activities and time to look back on what they have learned.
Programme Outcomes
