Spending time at your child’s level helps them feel connected and ready to communicate. Try crouching, sitting or lying so you’re face‑to‑face and able to interact more easily.
What to do:
- Sit or move opposite your child
- Get down to their level whenever you can
How?
This could be sitting or lying on the floor, or kneeling so you’re eye‑to‑eye.
Why?
Being at the same level helps you connect, and it makes it easier for you both to see and understand each other.
